This expectation was mainly made because the fans had been led in that direction by some alleged hints in a recent Rockstar developer's post on X (formerly called Twitter).
Following this, the speculations among the fans again started to grow, and they believed that these clues were related to the upcoming game and the number 27.

Rockstar Games has so far maintained a total of 27 posts on Instagram for the time being, which many fans thought was another hint post by the GTV 6 makers. On the other hand, on December 24, 2024, one of the posts was replaced with a Red Dead Online post to balance the count of 27, and this added to another suspicion among the fans.
Two days back, on December 27, 2024, Rockstar Games also removed a post from Instagram, leaving the fans to believe that something new related to GTA 6 could be posted on social media soon.
According to TGG, a Grand Theft Auto YouTuber tweeted about the same, with one of the comments by a fan expressing their excitement.
On the other hand, another popular name in the Grand Theft Auto community, @DarkViperAU, also hyped the prospect of Rockstar Games making a post regarding GTA-6 on December 27.
