The Korean drama has already ranked in overall impressive numbers, with high anticipations of the Season 3 premiere later this year, which is expected to be Netflix's biggest show ever.
Premiered on December 26, the second season of 'Squid Game' has reported 68 million views after four days of its release, becoming Netflix's biggest TV debut ever. On the other hand, Carry-On no longer holds the top position in English film on the streaming platform.
Squid Game 2, the third most-watched series on Netflix
With 26.3 million views in the third week of the release of 'Squid Game 2,' viewers can't get enough of the Korean drama. Now, the current number stands at 152.5 million total views, becoming the third-most-watched TV series on Netflix.
On the other hand, the first season of Squid Game garnered 265 million views and stands in first place, while the series 'Wednesday' stands in second place with 252 million views. Well, if we see the number count and if the audience continues to catch up with the show this year too, the numbers of the show will be tremendous.
However, 'Wednesday' is also coming with its second season in 2025, so the competition might be tough.
A look at other series that made it to the top 10 list
Apart from popular shows such as 'Squid Game Season 1,' which stands in third place with 8.7 million views, the Norwegian series La Palma stands in sixth position with 3.6 million views in its fifth week.
Next comes the limited K-drama series When The Phone Rings, which stands at the seventh position with 2.9 million views in its eighth week. While the Stars Gossip debuted, it could only garner 2.4 million views.
A look at the English shows chart
On Netflix's English-language series chart, Missing You claimed the top spot with 15.2 million views for the week ending January 6. Following this, the historical drama American Primaeval stands second with 10.4 million views, while the Jerry Springer docuseries Fights, Camera, Action secured third place with 7.7 million views.
Other notable entries like WWE Raw which debuted at number 4 and Gabriel Iglesias¡¯ comedy special Legend of Fluffy landed at number 7. And the Carry-On, the Christmas thriller, was finally unseated from first place after a month.
