9-YO Child Prodigy With An IQ Of 145, All Set To Become World's Youngest Graduate!
Nine-year-old Laurent Simons from Amsterdam is all set to become the world&rsquos youngest person to complete his bachelor&rsqos degree. He has an IQ of 145 - just to give you context Albert Einstein had a IQ of 160 so this kid is just 25 points behind him. Laurent will take the world record for being the youngest graduate from Michael Kearney who graduated from University of Alabama at the age of 10.

Nine-year-old Laurent Simons from Amsterdam, is all set to become the world¡¯s youngest person to complete his bachelor¡¯s degree. He has an IQ of 145 - just to give you context, Albert Einstein had an IQ of 160, so this kid is just 25 points behind him!
Laurent will be getting his bachelor¡¯s degree in Electrical engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (EUT) in December; The course is considered tough even for students of average graduate age. Owing to his brilliance, he is inundated with offers from the world¡¯s best universities, for post graduation.
Simons was born in Belgium and finished his secondary school at the age of 8 and is set to become a graduate next month, completing his studies in just nine months. He is planning to enroll for PhD programme in electrical engineering for a medicine degree.
Like other children his age, he also loves to play with his dog and use his phone. Laurent¡¯s parents say that they do not want him to become too serious, "We need to find a balance between being a child and his talents," his father told CNN.
At first, when Laurent¡¯s grandparents pointed out that he was special, his parents thought that they were exaggerating. But, they realised it later when Laurent started school at the age of four and completed five years of study in just 12 months.
Laurent¡¯s teachers also put his skills and intelligence to test, and told his parents that ¡°he is like a sponge¡±. Lydia, the boy¡¯s mother, joked as she told CNN that she "ate a lot of fish during the pregnancy."
Sjoerd Hulshof, education director of the TUE bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, in a statement, said, "That is not unusual. Special students that have good reasons for doing so can arrange an adjusted schedule. In much the same way we help students who participate in top sport."
While praising Laurent, Hulshof also said that, ¡°He is simply extraordinary. Laurent is the fastest student we have ever had here. Not only is he hyper-intelligent but also a very sympathetic boy," he added.
Laurent will take the world record for being the youngest graduate from Michael Kearney, who graduated from the University of Alabama at the age of 10. Kearney has held the title since 1994.
Many prestigious universities have approached the family for Laurent¡¯s higher education, but he has already decided what he wants to do in life - develop artificial organs.
This kid seems to be special in ways more than one, and we're pretty sure he'll do something pretty awesome for this world.
