Kanak's granddaughter Sana Saxena shared her 'pawdorable' story of her Grandmother's love for furry friends. She captioned the post as:

"My 90-year-old grandmother, who has severe osteoporosis, has gone through multiple major operations, became bedridden, and hasn¡¯t let anything come in between her and her love for the dogs. She gets up every morning at 4:30 am to cook for 120+ dogs and tries experimenting with her recipes because her heart only feels full when they relish everything she makes. After each feeding, I come back, and she asks, "aaj sabne achese khaya? Sabko pasand aaya?" Then I show her the videos, which makes her face carry a big smile. Today I decided I would take her with me for the first time. There were severe risks regarding her physical health, but she told me - "there is no medicine, but there is a dog's love, aaj meri umar jo hai inki wajah se hai itni lambi, mai banau, ye khaaye, bas yahi khushi chaiye muje". And look, the way she smiles? The way she could touch them after all those years? The way she talks to them? Before you tell me a thousand reasons to why you can¡¯t help a community animal, please look at this."
Kanak's story again won hearts on the internet after 'Humans of Bombay' shared her story.

Kanak was not that big a dog lover until her granddaughter got a puppy into the house. Kanak felt drawn toward their new furry friend in just a few days.
She experienced such a drastic change of heart that she has spent the last two years feeding and caring for other stray dogs in her area.

In the video by Humans of Bombay, Kanak is seen preparing food and feeding dogs lovingly near her home. She uses a walker to go around, yet she always remembers to feed her friends.
"A few years back, my granddaughter, Sana, got Coco, a puppy at our house. And honestly, I never liked dogs; bas nahi pasand the (I just didn¡¯t like them). And I genuinely thought nothing could change my mind. But Coco changed everything. Aur aisa kuch nahi kara tha ussne (He didn¡¯t do anything special) he¡¯d just eat, play, or laze around. But even when he did such simple things, he looked very cute. I couldn¡¯t believe myself when I first said, ¡®Kitna pyaara lag raha hai (He looks so cute),¡¯ while looking at him. Mera toh dil aa gaya tha Coco pe (I had had fallen in love with Coco)!" Humans of Bombay cited Kanak as saying.
Kanak said her granddaughter Sana had expressed an interest in opening a dog shelter in their neighborhood roughly two years ago. She was severely impacted when a neighborhood dog passed away.

Later, she did establish a nearby shelter for stray dogs. On the other hand, Kanak is too old to visit the shelter. However, she adds to the effort by preparing meals for her furry friends at 4:30 am.
At Sana's shelter, Kanak continues to prepare meals for stray dogs despite suffering a fracture in 2021.
