Video Shows Desperate People Giving Away Their Kids To Be Taken Away Out Of Afghanistan After Taliban Takeover
A video posted on Instagram has revealed how a parent was willing to part ways with their child at Hamid Karzai Airport and got others to pass the baby down the line to the front.
After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, there has been chaos all over the country. Out of fear, citizens were seen making desperate efforts to flee away from the country after the militant organisation seized Kabul's Presidential Palace this week and informed the world they were here to stay. Afghans are trying to escape via any means of commute.
So, naturally, the scene at the country's capital Kabul Airport has been intense. There have been scenes of intense panic at the airport and at border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
In the midst of that, a heartbreaking video has emerged where parents are seen passing their baby to the front of the queue at Kabul International Airport in the hope that it would give their child a better chance of leaving Afghanistan.
The video was shared on Instagram by user Rustam Wahab and revealed how parents were willing to part ways with their child at Hamid Karzai Airport and got others to pass the baby down the line to the front. He captioned it "People are so desperate to escape the T-ban that they¡¯re passing babies and kids forward to the gate at Kabul airport."
The baby can be seen crying while people pass him on to the front of the queue.
A senior British official on the ground at the airport told Sky News UK: "It was terrible, women were throwing their babies over the razor wire, asking the soldiers to take them, some got caught in the wire.
"I'm worried for my men, I'm counselling some, everyone cried last night."
The situation in Kabul has been so bad after the Taliban cemented its control that people are even clinging to aeroplane wheels just to fly away from the country. A video also showed that this led to the death of two people after they fell off the aircraft after it took off.

The C-17 Globemaster, with a callsign Reach 871, was carrying some 640 Afghans, reportedly more than five times its suggested payload, after hundreds of desperate people flooded onto the plane on Sunday.
A haunting photo of 640 Afghan refugees who ran on to a US military plane, desperate to escape. The plane's capacity is only 150. The military kept the refugees on the plane & took them to Qatar.

The Taliban has promised a 'safe passage' for people wanting to leave the country, however, women and children passing through checkpoints are reportedly being beaten by militants.
While the US military has taken over control of the airfield in Kabul, the Taliban controls the roads to get there.
This is extremely sad.
