PM Narendra Modi who was also present at the ISRO Centre in Bengaluru, in a tweet consoled the scientists at ISRO and said ¡°Nation is proud of you.¡±
Addressing the media, ISRO chairman, K Sivan said that the space agency lost contact with the Vikram lander, when the mission was at an altitude of 2.1 kilometres from the surface of the moon. He added that the lander¡¯s descent was going normally. The internet couldn't agree more with Anand Mahindra:
Yes we can... We will

But already 90% of the mission experiment is the Orbitor #Chandrayaan2 success , 10% is the lander vikram. ?? So most objective of the mission is success, whatever we missed, we'll achieve in future. #ISRO

According to an Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientist, the Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter is healthy and safe in the Lunar orbit. "The Orbiter is healthy, intact, functioning normally and safely in the Lunar orbit," the official told news agency PTI.
The mission life of the 2,379-kg Orbiter is one year. The Orbiter payloads will conduct remote-sensing observations from a 100 km orbit. The Indian space agency is now examining available information to ascertain what went wrong at the last minute with the soft landing of Vikram.
