Back in 2016, Major Akshay Kumar - the son of an ex-IAF pilot - along with another officer, Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir and five jawans were killed in an ambush in Nagrota.
Needless to say, it was a huge loss for their families and they are still struggling to come to terms with it.
Recently, Major Akshay Girish Kumar¡¯s 6-year-old daughter shared what her father taught her about the Army, and it has left people teary-eyed. The little girl named Naina recollects conversations she had with her father when the mother-daughter accompanied him on the posting.

Naina can be heard praising the Army. ¡°Army is to make us love. Army is to fight with bad uncles. Army is to help us not get afraid. Army is some who does Jai Hind to everyone,¡± says Naina in the video.
A year after Akshay's martyrdom, Naina recollects conversations with her papa.

Naina says that her dad taught her everything when they were living in an old house. The video ends with her saying ¡°Jai Hind¡±.
Back in 2017, Kumar¡¯s wife shared a poignant Facebook post about the struggle of living without a husband.

"I got his uniforms, clothes and all the stuff we collected over the years in a truck. I tried hard to fight back my tears. I haven't washed his regimental jacket and when I miss him a lot, I wear it. It still smells of him," she wrote.
Most of us cannot even begin to imagine how it must feel to go through what the families of martyrs live with every single day of their lives. Naina's message is a reminder that a soldier lives on in ways more than one.
