Daughter Of A Domestic Help And Tailor Tops Jharkhand's Class XII Board Exams
Nandita, daugher of Rajesh Haripal and Rashmi, topped in Arts in the Jharkhand Academic Council Class XII board exams. The 16-year-old is a student of Jamshedpur Women's College (JCW) and secured 419 marks out of the total 500.
It brings a sense of pride to our parents when we achieve something great, and they do everything they can to provide us with the best of things in order to enable us to do so.
So when Nandita, daugher of Rajesh Haripal and Rashmi, topped in Arts in the Jharkhand Academic Council Class XII board exams, her parents were ecstatic.

The 16-year-old's father and mother work as a tailor and domestic help, respectively. She is a student of Jamshedpur Women's College (JCW) and secured 419 marks out of the total 500. In a conversation with TOI, Nandita said, ¡°I was expecting a good result, but I never thought I would become the state topper".
Her parents wanted Nandita, the eldest of their three children, to stop her studies after her Class X as they could not afford to pay her school fee anymore. However, she wanted to continue higher education and her parents eventually gave in to her request. She started tutoring students from kindergarten and primary classes so that she could pay for her education.
She also added that she wants to become an IAS officer after she pursues her graduation in mass communication.

JWC principal, Shukla Mahanty, on Saturday, visited Nandita¡¯s home and rewarded her with some money, a silver coin and a wristwatch. Mahanty said, ¡°Her resolve to not let the hardships at home come in the way of her studies is incredible. The entire college is proud of her.¡± She also mentioned that the college will not charge a any money which, includes hostel fees, from Nandita for her graduation in mass communication.
Nandita said, ¡°I am fortunate that my parents gave me the freedom to pursue higher studies and grateful to my college for supporting me."

East Singhbhum DC Suraj Kumar, who was a state topper back in 2004, called Nandita and offered his congratulations to her. He also urged her to never give up and continue her studies so that she can achieve her dreams.
