Twitter users came together to help an elderly man selling saplings in Bengaluru after a tweet urging people to buy his plants went viral. A user with Twitter handle IMShubham shared a picture of an old man named Revana Siddappa who sells plants at Kanakapura road near Sarakki Signal in Karnataka.
Social media has turned out to be one of the biggest channels to bring about a positive change in the lives people in dire straits during the pandemic.
After the Baba Ka Dhaba, countless heartrending stories of people struggling on the streets have surfaced online.
More recently, it's the story of an elderly man eking out a living by selling plants in Bengaluru.

On Monday, Twitter user '@shubham_jain999' shared a post about Revana Siddappa, who sits on the roadside and sells plants in the Karnataka capital.

"Meet Revana Siddappa, an old man, who sells plants at Kanakapura road near Sarakki Signal, Karnataka. Price of these plants are from ? 10-30," he wrote while sharing two pictures of the elderly man which show him holding an umbrella over his head to shield himself from the sun. He further asked his followers to support the man.

The Tweet soon went viral with people calling to support the old man. Reacting to the tweet, actor Randeep Hooda asked for his exact address. "Hey Bangalore .. do show some love .. he sits in front of Wular Fashion factory, JP Nagar, Sarakki Signal, Kanakapura Road, Bangalore," Hooda tweeted.

Changemakers of Kanakapura Road ¨C a federation of NGOs and Resident Welfare Associations ¨C reached the spot to supply Mr Siddappa with a cover and extra vegetation to promote.

They also helped him with a sign advertising his plants and provided him with a table and chair in a gesture that was widely applauded on the microblogging platform.
