Protests over Citizenship Amendment Act, passed last week by Parliament, continue in parts of the country. At many places, the protests turned violent and led to alleged police action drawing severe flak.
One of the problems during protests in several places has been triggered by rumour-mongering and people present at the venue being ill-informed.
To deal with this problem, a cop from UP's Etawah is setting an example with his peaceful technique of handling an unruly crowd.
Etawah Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP), Santosh Mishra's move to sensitise the youth was extremely crucial at a time when thousands are in the dark about what the act stands for.
SSP Santosh Mishra chose to initiate a dialogue with the protesting youth and emphasised on the importance of staying informed. ¡°There is no law to remove any citizens of India,¡± he said while reassuring the youth.
In the video that's going viral, Santosh Mishra is seen standing among a group of youth, explaining the dangers of falling for a rumour and the need to know everything about the Citizenship Bill before setting out for a protest.

He said that the bill will not affect the livelihood of the citizens of the country and warned them against bad elements who may try to mislead them by spreading wrong information about the CAA.
There are many protesters who have failed to explain the cause for their agitation and also what CAA and NRC stand for.

Let's take the Thailand girl who was dragged to a pro-CAA rally in Pune, for instance. She reportedly had no clue what the protest was all about. And the worst part was that others at the protest assumed that she was representing the northeast.
In times like these, it's extremely crucial to stay away from rumours, help in disseminating the right information and clarify possible doubts about the Citizenship Act.
