Firsts in life are always special. But who decides when is the right time to experience these firsts? Setting an inspiring example for everyone who thinks it's too late to dream or chase a goal, this 'Nananji' from Gujarat is a hero.
An 85-year-old Gujarati entrepreneur recounted how the "overnight success" of his post-retirement start-up enabled him to purchase his first car.
His video has witnessed significant online success with more than 18.5 million views on Instagram.
In June 2021, Radha Krishan Choudhary and his wife Shakuntala Choudhary established the Ayurvedic hair care company Avimee Herbal.
After Choudhary's retirement as a businessman, the elderly couple began residing with their daughter.
Choudhary launched his start-up, joining the growing population of post-retirement entrepreneurs rather than sitting back and relaxing after more than 50 years of hard labor.
After his daughter suffered from significant hair loss, he was inspired to launch the hair care company.
Choudhary, also known as Nanaji, researched the contributing factors to hair loss and created a proprietary blend of more than 50 herbs to develop his hair oil.
"My daughter, now my business partner, suffered from severe hair loss and asked me to find a cure. After studying the subject for almost a year, I made a concoction of herbal oils that helped my daughter reduce hair fall and improve the texture of her hair," the 85-year-old explained in a viral video on Avimee Herbal¡¯s Instagram channel.
In a different video, he described how his business saw overnight success, leading him to buy his dream car at age 85.
"We established Avimee Herbal and made it to the hearts of people around the world in less than six months," said Choudhary.
"So what did it take to become an overnight success?"Before mentioning the four factors that aided him in his entrepreneurial journey, he posed a question to his viewers.
The first, according to Choudhary, is "vision and mission." "We had a clearly defined mission to help people regrow their hair through the use of Ayurveda," he said.
"Belief" came next as the 85-year-old wrote: "When the going was getting tough, and people were publicly calling us a ¡®scam,¡¯ what kept us going? BELIEF. We knew what we were doing was right and kept us motivated."
The final two factors that helped Choudhary's startup thrive were hard effort and teamwork. He also emphasized how important his family had been to his successes.
