'Hero' Gujarat Cop Rescues Baby From Floods, Carries Her To Safety In Tub Over His Head
Vadodara is witnessing heavy floods along with other cities in Gujarat. While the rain meant relief from scorching heat in some parts of India, it also had a crippling on various others by leaving the roads there water-logged.
But every trying moment creates new heroes, and this time we got a hero in the form of a Guajrat cop who saved a 45-day old infant from floods. Goes without saying, the photo of this incident has gone viral online and has left many teary-eyed.
In the video shared by an IPS officer, Govind Chavda is seen carrying a 45-day-old infant in a tub over his head while walking through at least four-feet of water.

Vadodara received 499 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours ending 8 am on Thursday. Of this 286 mm of rain fell in just four hours between 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday. The rains created a flash flood-like situation in the city.
In some parts, the water level was even reported to have reached over six feet. To make it worse, crocodiles from nearby Vishwamitra River had also invaded the city, creating panic amongst people.
A Twitter user shared a clip that was captioned as, ¡®VadodaraRains #Vadodara.¡¯ The video shows a water-logged streets and two stray dogs trying to escape a crocodile that was casually wading through the water, trying to sneak up on the dogs.

Twitter is also flooded with people narrating horrific stories about Vadodara rains and how scary the situation is right now.
The forest department and NGOs are also working to catch the reptiles. Several teams of NDRF, SDRF, army and fire brigade along with the local police worked day and night to evacuate over 5,000 people from the low-lying areas to safe shelters.
