The user shared how, while walking through the streets of Greater Kailash in South Delhi, they noticed the lavish villas and luxury cars in the area which made them wonder what the owners of these houses do, ¡°I was walking in M block Greater Kailash, looking at the lavish Kothis (costing 30+ cr), the parked luxury cars. If you are one of those people, what exactly do you do?¡±

People flooded the comment section with their stories of how they got to be part of the rich elite class of Delhi. One user admitted that it was simply the hard work of their parents, who were both surgical and non-surgical specialty doctors.

The user shared, "They didn¡¯t come from money, worked their asses off for decades, and eventually it paid off. The money came around the age of 50 for them, and they got very lucky with very lucrative practices." After making good money, the user noted that the pair "bought property, built a bungalow, benzes + BMWs." The user also put up a disclaimer for the novice and wrote, "This is not typical for most doctors in Delhi, most kinda struggle forever."

One South Delhiite shared the truth behind the curtain: "A lot of us South Delhiites parents got lucky to purchase property a few decades ago when the prices were not insane, and a good chunk of them are still middle class or upper middle class, corporate job type people only. And in today's date, they themselves can't afford a brand new house in South Delhi due to mad prices."

Among the various suggestions, a banker who claimed to work in the MSME department stepped up to clearly sum up the majority of the rich elites of Delhi, "I think I am able to answer this as I work in bank in the MSME department, where we sanction loans worth more than 10 cr." They shared how a bulk of the loans levied were to "famous doctors, CAs, or professions," while others with businesses were owners of "liquor and hospitality businesses, e.g., chain hotels."

Among these elites were "political background businessmen" and those who have a "past background of the forefathers such as IAS, IPS, or government servants, who amassed enormous wealth" through the years. They added, "above all combinations, and strong investments in land and assets that had 5x or 10x their wealth."
