In the holy month of Ramzan, we witnessed a lot of stories of communal harmony that brought smiles on our faces. In one such instance, a Muslim man has earned praise in Assam for breaking his Ramzan fast to donate blood to a Hindu woman. Munna Ansari, a resident of Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur was observing Roza everyday.
However a phone call from his friends who runs a hospital made him break his fast. Ansari donated blood to a Hindu woman who was admitted at the Biswanath Civil Hospital. The 85-year-old woman, Rebati Bora, was admitted at the hospital for over a week after and has been suffering from a gall-bladder ailment. She was in urgent need of B negative blood as the blood available in the district blood bank did not match with Rebati¡¯s.
Her family was on the lookout for a donor for over three days. After the third day, Rebati¡¯s son left a message on the ¡®Team Humanity Voluntary Blood Donors Group¡¯ on Facebook. Ansari responded to his query and said that his blood group was B negative.
¡°Even though we didn¡¯t have any relation by blood with him, we are bound into it now by my mother¡¯s blood,¡± Anil told East Mojo. While talking to the media, Anil broke down into tears and said that Munna¡¯s gestures indicated that all relations are not bound by blood.
Ansari has been an active blood donor for the ¡®Team Humanity Voluntary Blood Donors Group¡¯ for many years, as reported by Times Now.
