'Took It As A Sign': Heartwarming Story Behind Viral Pic That Convinced This IAS Officer She'd Found Her Soulmate
An IAS officer's picture with her then boyfriend and now husband got published in the newspaper which led to their love story.
When you are with someone, you probably sometimes asks the universe for a sign if they are right for you or if you want to spend the rest of your life with them.
This is what happened to Chandni Chandran who is an IAS for officer now. She shared a very heartwarming story about how she got the sign that she needed to permanently settle down with her then boyfriend.
She narrated a story about the same from the year 2016. It was the month of May and this IAS officer was stressed out then about the results of the UPSC exams, so she went for a walk with her then boyfriend. However, a photographer from Times of India captured a snap of them walking in the rain and sharing an umbrella without their knowledge.
May 10, 2016.Results of Civil Service Exam 2015 was expected to be out & I was roaming with @mrarunsudarsan to not stress over it. I didn't make it. The IAS officer went on to say how the next day she came to know that she didn't pass the exam. However, with the pictures of toppers was her picture that was clicked by the TOI photographer.
Horrified, her boyfriend Arun the called Times of India and complained to them about removing the picture since they were not married then and didn't want to disclose their relationship to the world.
However, Chandni wasn't as furious as her then boyfriend and took this picture as a sign. 'I took it as a sign that my photo was destined to be there in the paper filled with UPSC toppers and that I can happily walk towards any destination with someone holding an umbrella and looking out for me with love unbound when I take each step,' she wrote in another tweet.
When someone however asked what action did they take regarding the picture, Chandni said that they did nothing illegal.
Chandni Chandran eventually cleared the UPSC exams and now belongs to the 2017 IAS batch. She also got married to her then boyfriend and the guy in the picture Arun Sudarsan.

Sir, you are lucky. Generally newspapers publish photos of only charming women enjoying rain or escaping from intense heat by covering face. But this wise photographer choose you & your would be spouse walking in rain & you got memorable photo.
