Love sees no religion, no language, no place and definitely no bounds. So, when an interracial couple from different countries proved that with ease, it cemented our belief in love even more.
According to India Today, a Hyderabadi boy named Prateek and a Ukrainian girl named Lyubov tied the knot in Ukraine and decided to host their wedding reception in India. The couple, however, narrowly escaped the Russian invasion as the country went into a state of war the day after the couple landed in India.
The couple got married on February 23 in Ukraine which was a day before Ukraine had to face its biggest crisis.
However, the couple didn't let the war deter the wedding celebrations. They hosted their wedding reception in Hyderabad where the groom is originally from.
Ukrainian bride Lyubov got married to Malikarjun Rao and Padmaja¡¯s son Prateek in a ritualised Indian reception. The wedding was officiated by the chief priest of Chilkur Balaji temple, CS Rangarajan. The temple is popularly known as Visa Balaji as the shrine is believed to grant devotees¡¯ wish to get an overseas visa.
The priest said that he was praying for the war to end soon. ¡°This war has brought bloodshed, turmoil worldwide and impacting the Covid-19 devastated world further."
The priest Rangarajan, along with other priests and devotees has offered prayers at the 16th century Venkateshwara temple seeking an end to the conflict in Ukraine that has ensued after Russia launched a full-blown attack on the democratic country that aims to join NATO and the European Union.
This is not the first time an inter-racial couple has melted our hearts. Just last year, an inter-racial couple proved their love after a French girl came all the way to India to marry a Bihari man.
This French woman named Mary Lori Heral who is a businesswoman in Paris had come to India about six years ago and fell in love with her tour guide, Rakesh, a resident of Katharia village in Begusarai. They kept in touch for all those years and their friendship turned into a fairytale romance.
She loves India so much that she decided to have all her wedding rituals in Bihar. She even got her entire family along who loved all the celebrations and the Indian rituals.
