Jeff Bezos' 'Actual' Full-Time Job Is Filing Legal Actions Against SpaceX: Elon Musk

Continuing their rivalry, US billionaires Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk have yet again targeted each other, this time over the issue of the satellite internet.

To begin with, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos who recently stepped down from the post of CEO of Amazon, asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to dismiss Elon Musk¡¯s company SpaceX's latest amendment to its Starlink network saying that it violates FCC rules by proposing two different configurations in orbit. Following this FCC halted the approval for Starlink.

This piqued mercurial business Elon musk who in turn took the jab at Bezos saying that he resigned from Amazon to file more legal actions against him and his companies.

Reacting to a tweet by a CNBC reporter about the report, Musk sarcastically said that Bezos has taken filing of legal action against SpaceX as his full-time job.

He also pointed out that instead of Jeff addressing Commission' July 2020 order that informed Amazon that it had failed to provide sufficient information about its proposed system even after 400 days, Amazon took only four days to object to SpaceX¡¯s next-generation NGO system.

¡°While Amazon has waited 15 months to explain how its system works, it has lodged objections to SpaceX on average about every 16 days this year,¡± SpaceX director of satellite policy David Goldman said in a statement.

Both the billionaires are competing to get a coveted contract from the US government to launch a constellation of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites that will provide high-speed broadband internet services to people around the world.

On the question of delay in addressing FCC concerns of its model, Amazon in a blog said, ¡°A project of this scale requires significant effort and resources, and, due to the nature of LEO constellations, it is not the kind of initiative that can start small. You have to commit,¡± the company had said in a blog post.
