Man Waited To Meet His Birth Mother For 20 Years, Finally Found Out They Both Worked In The Same Hospital
After two decades of wondering and searching, a Utah man has reunited with his birth mom after she sent him a Facebook message out of the blue last November.
Life becomes extremely difficult if you don't have parents growing up. But, just imagine not meeting your mother for 20 years and then finally finding out she was always around you.
After two years of searching for his mother, a man from the US finally found his birth mother when she sent him a Facebook message out of the blue.
Benjamin Hulleberg hails from Utah, USA and works as a middle school teacher. He knew since childhood that he was adopted by his parents, Angela and Brian Hulleberg, and was curious about his biological mother, someone he knew only by her first name, Holly.
The man told Good Morning News, ¡°It was always a very positive conversation. It was my parents either expressing gratitude for Holly or me talking about how I'm grateful for her and how I want to meet her one day.¡±
His birth mother, however, never forgot that she gave Benjamin up for adoption 20 years ago. ¡°He was always on my mind. More so on holidays and his birthday, roller coaster of emotions,¡± Shearer, 36, told ¡°GMA.¡± ¡°I thought about him all the time.¡±
Shearer searched online and landed on Benjamin¡¯s social media page. ¡°He was 18 when I found him and I was very hesitant,¡± she recounted. ¡°He had so much going on in his life. ¡ The last thing I wanted to do is to throw a wrench in his life. So I just watched from a distance.¡±
Benjamin had tried to find his biological mothers for years. He had talked to his parents about it many times. The man wrote letters, signed up with an adoption registry, and even took a DNA test in the hopes of finding the woman he knew only as Holly.
So, when the man's birth mother sent him a Facebook message wishing him a happy birthday six months ago, Hulleberg¡¯s world was rocked upside down.
¡°I can remember the exact place that I was at when I got the message. I was at work. I was a machine operator and I remember I was in machine No. 15,¡± Hulleberg said. ¡°I was in between our hourly quality checks and I got on my phone and I saw her message and I just replied.¡±
Benjamin said that the message triggered a very emotional reaction. He said he was crying all along. He said that the day he waiting for for 20 years finally arrived and it was a lot to take in.
Both the son and the mother met. They hugged each other and cried. Shearer and Benjamin Hulleberg also realized they hadn¡¯t been too far from each other after all these years, with both having worked at HCA Healthcare¡¯s St. Mark¡¯s Hospital in Salt Lake City in the last two years.
What a wonderful moment!
