How many of us try and beat our record at anything? Add Mt Everest to the equation, and things are that much more tough. Not for Nepal's Kami Rita, a sherpa, who has already scaled Mount Everest for 23 times, breaking his own record for the most successful ascents.
He is now the only mountaineer in the world to hold this record.
The other two climbers who went on the peak journey with him reached the summit on Wednesday and are all back safely, says Government official Gyanendra Shrestha.
Rita¡¯s two other acquaintances have climbed 8,848-meter (29,035-foot) peak 21 times each but now retired from mountain climbing.
Last year, sherpa Kami climbed Mt Everest for the 22nd time.
Around 41 different teams and 378 climbers were permitted to scale mount Everest this year. The 49-year-old first climbed Mount Everest on 13th may 1994.
