To Raise Awareness About Men's Health Issues, Woman Sports A Fake Moustache As Part Of Movember
Every November men around the world allow their facial hair to grow and refrain from cutting them as part of the Movember challenge. Every November, men around the world allow their facial hair to grow and refrain from cutting them. They craft their hair in different and sometimes disturbing styles, as part of the Movember challenge.
Movember challenge is meant to raise awareness about diseases and social issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, anxiety and suicide, and the movement demands the involvement of men only.

But why does it have to be just for men? That is what a woman from Australia questioned, and came up with her own idea of Movember. Louise Radl works in the maintenance department in a holiday village on Penrith. She noticed her male colleagues turning up to work with different facial hairstyles and that gave her the idea of doing something herself.
When she realised that the Movember movement is supposed to raise money for various men¡¯s health issues, she decided to pitch in by sporting a fake moustache everyday.

It has been seventeen days now and there has not been a single day that Louise has not put on her fake moustache and stuck by her pledge. She makes sure she gets out of her house with the moustache on. And that obviously grabbed eyeballs and made her viral on the Internet.
¡°I just wanted to be able to raise some money for it as some of my colleagues were and didn't see why I couldn't do it too. I have a different style one every day, sometimes a stick-on and sometimes drawn on as the adhesive is quite an irritant!" Louise reportedly said.
Louise is not embarrassed by her new facial adornment, in fact, she has gotten herself clicked at work, her house, her gym, grocery shops and even a swimming pool.

Her ¡®stunt¡¯ has not just garnered attention on social media, but has actually helped her contribute to the cause of Movember. A little more than halfway into the month, Louise has managed to raise ?500 for the movement and hopes to collect more.
She said, "I'm surprised at the reaction of people, I thought more people would laugh but they try not to look or look and look away quickly. I think it makes people feel really awkward and is quite embarrassing!"
She keeps a page JustGiving updated with her Movember pledge, in case anyone is interested in following that.
This is actually a great idea for women to contribute towards men¡¯s health issues. Just because some issues pertain only to men does not mean that women cannot or should not be a part of awareness raising campaigns pertaining to them.
Way to go, Louise!
