Food Warrior: Mumbai Man Provides Food Twice A Day To 200 COVID-19 Patients In Home Quarantine
For many, this moment in time has come as an opportunity to provide food to COVID-19 patients who are in home isolation. An example of this is a man from Mumbai who is ensuring the Covid patients get to have healthy food.
The world is facing a very different reality and it's all because of coronavirus. In India alone, the number of cases and deaths are rising at an alarming rate. But amid all the doom and gloom, people throughout the country are lifting up those in need by putting their extra time and resources, big or small, to good use.
For many, this moment in time has come as an opportunity to provide food to COVID-19 patients who are in home isolation. An example of this is a man from Mumbai who is ensuring the Covid patients get to have healthy food.
Rajiv Singhal, a businessman by profession, had tested positive for coronavirus in September last year. Later, his whole family also tested positive for the virus. During his days in the quarantine, he did not get proper food and was dearly missing homemade food, India Today reported.
During the current crisis as India battles the second wave of coronavirus, he is ensuring people don't suffer the same way he did when it comes to food. Therefore, he started to provide home-cooked healthy food twice a day for over 200 COVID-19 patients.
Singhal has reportedly hired Asha kitchen food service in Mumbai's Malad for making food.

¡°In September last year, I was tested positive for coronavirus. Later, my whole family was also tested positive for the virus. Getting healthy homemade food was very difficult. In today's situation when most of the Covid patients are in home isolation I can understand how they must be deprived of good food. Therefore, I want to provide food to the patients," he told India Today.

He also said that he has circulated his phone number on social media. Singhal also revealed he doesn't ask for a COVID-19 positive report when he gets calls for food. He simply takes their requests and provides details to the kitchen service he has hired. The food is then delivered through delivering agencies.
Singhal is delivering food from Mahim to Mira road. ¡°We are delivering to distant places. Whatever I can do for covid patients I will. In fact, I would urge more people to come forward and help needy people in such difficult times. I really get very happy when people call me when food is delivered to them," he said.
