English Literature Post Grad Quits British Council Job To Sell Chai, Hopes To 'Make It Big' One Day
The woman revealed that she had previously worked at the British Council Library before leaving to pursue her passion.
No dream is big enough to be unachievable. Walt Disney famously said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." A woman from Delhi has personified the same in a viral LinkedIn post.
The woman left her comfortable job to sell tea in order to pursue her dreams of making it as big as tea-selling franchises like Chaayos. Here's her story.
Woman quits comfortable job to pursue her passion
Brigadier Sanjay Khanna, a LinkedIn user, brought forth the inspiring story of a woman with a master's degree in English literature. When the Army veteran decided to take tea, he was in Gopinath Bazar, Delhi Cantt.
He said he was "amazed and pleasantly pleased" when he came across the woman's raydee, a tea-selling stall on wheels. Not because it was an interesting stall, but because it was run by an English-speaking woman.
The former Brigadier inquired as to why she was running the tea shop. The woman, who identified as, Sharmistha Ghosh, then described her vision. Her ambition is to make her business as successful as tea giants like Chaayos.
The woman also revealed that she had previously worked at the British Council Library before leaving to pursue her passion. She intends to work hard until she realises her ambition, with the help of a friend who works as a joint partner with Lufthansa and her housekeeper who works for extra pay.
The Army veteran shared a picture of her stall and wrote, ¡°I strongly feel that one must not keep thinking of high qualifications and a high-end job but think of small ways and means to achieve and flourish in the longer run.¡±
Her story went viral on LinkedIn gaining praise from people on the internet
Social media users were inspired by the woman's bravery. They observed that few people have the courage to leave a well-paying career to pursue their aspirations. Many praised her vision and predicted that her efforts will bear fruit in the future.
A man wrote, "The message that one should not limit themselves based on qualifications or societal expectations is important and refreshing. It's inspiring to see individuals like Sharmistha and Bhavna breaking barriers and proving that success can come from unexpected places."
A lady added, "This is so inspiring and beautiful. I too will try to spot her in Gopinath Bazar soon if her area of operating remains the same. Thanks for sharing this."
Another wrote, "Truly appreciate your sensitivity to a noble worker. Inspiring indeed ! A change maker in the true sense ."
