Twitter has become a great medium for police departments in India to communicate directly with the people. People used to have a distant relationship with these local officials, but now the police departments are just a tweet away. A recent exchange between a local Pune resident and the city¡¯s police department has grabbed the internet¡¯s attention.
Pune Police's Hilarious Reply To Bike Rider's Tweet Wins Hearts Online
These days, CCTV cameras catch traffic rule offenders and issue digital challans. A man from Pune got notified, in such a way, of his discrepancy at a red light when he was photographed not wearing a helmet while riding his bike. The man has been identified as Melvin Cherian, a fitness enthusiast and the co-founder of GetSetGo Fitness.
In a hilarious tweet, Cherian replied to a digital challan he received and tagged the Pune police department¡¯s official Twitter in his post. He wrote in his cheeky reply, ¡°Thank you, Pune Police. I look good. I will pay the challan though.¡± His tweet soon reached the police department and led to a pretty hysterical exchange.

People Online Enjoyed The Fun Exchange Between The Rider and The Police Department
The Pune police Twitter account replied to Cherian's post and wrote, "Sure. P.S: A black helmet will go very well with that nice black jacket though." In Cherian¡¯s reply, he simply affirmed with a "yes sir."
The whole exchange became a wild attraction for people online. Users were surprised by the easy-going communication between the bike rider and the police department. "This is what we need. Humorous and humble conversations," one user wrote, while another added a joke, "To Pune City Police: Well Played." Some praised the entire exchange, writing, "Pune police at its best," while others took the situation a little more seriously, writing, "Helmet wearing is safety. Safe ride is a better option than a good look and paying challan."
Yet another Twitter user pointed out, "Helmets are not for rules it¡¯s for your own safety. It¡¯s absolutely absurd that we don¡¯t understand the fundamentals." People on the Internet had fun with the conversation and added their own jokes to the mix as they posted memes as replies to the police department¡¯s post.
