According to BBC, the 90-year-old Scottish actor passed away peacefully in his sleep, after being unwell for some time, his son said.
BBC also quotes his son Jason Connery, as saying that his father "had many of his family who could be in the Bahamas around him" when he died overnight in Nassau.
He also said, "A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor," and indeed it is. He was often considered as one of the most prolific actors to have played the role of 007. Condolences have been pouring in for him ever since the news of his demise was made public, with fans and colleagues recounting his genius.
