What Is The Grandma Planning To Do?
This Thanksgiving, the Arizona woman will welcome two new strangers into her home, joining her and a stranger she unintentionally texted seven years prior. Together, Wanda Dench and Airbnb plan to extend the celebrations, and Airbnb has announced that it will donate to Feeding America.
An error text sent by Dench to then-teen Jamal Hinton in 2016 marked the start of her tradition. She didn't know her grandson had changed his phone number when she was attempting to invite him.
Dench said Hinton was welcome, and Hinton joked he would like to come. They developed a bond that is still going strong.

Hinton had tweeted screen grabs from their first conversation and meeting. Social media users have come to expect their joint Thanksgiving celebration, which has continued every year since then.
Online, Dench is known as "Thanksgiving Grandma."
When Is She Hosting A Dinner?
Signing up for the opportunity to join Dench, 66, and Hinton, 24, for a catered early holiday dinner on November 20 is open to Airbnb guests.

They will also spend the night in Prescott Valley, a city in north-central Arizona, which is Dench's new residence. "I always wanted more people to join our Thanksgiving and be able to celebrate with us and have the amount of fun that we have together," Hinton told USA Today.
"I said from the jump of our first Thanksgiving."
How Will She Treat The Guests?
The menu will feature traditional dishes like mashed potatoes and turkey, as well as Dench's go-to Costco pumpkin pie. Playing board games, watching movies, and snapping selfies will all provide entertainment.
Dench and Hinton's year of meeting is represented by the $16 booking fee on Airbnb for the dinner and overnight stay. Travel expenses will be at the expense of the guests.

The amount that Airbnb intends to donate to Feeding America is unknown. Dench expressed her hope that people will be motivated to be as receptive to new friendships.
"Seeing people want to spread the word about a positive experience to strangers would be really cool," she remarked. According to The Arizona Republic, a film about Dench and Hinton's peculiar friendship may be in production.
