TikTok User Faizal Siddiqui's Account Banned For Glorifying Acid Attack, Violence Against Women
After just a day of the complaint being filed and massive online outrage, the ban was enforced "due to multiple community guidelines violations". Faizal, who had a 13 million-plus following on the video-sharing application, posted the insensitive video which shows him throwing a liquid on a girl's face for betraying him. The girl, on the other hand, is seen with makeup that suggests a disfigured face.
TikTok has suspended the account of popular creator, Faizal Siddiqui, after one of his videos was slammed for glorifying acid attacks on women.
The problematic video caught the attention of the National Commission for Women who asked TikTok India to immediately remove the video,
They also directed Maharashtra police to take action against the person responsible for making the clip.

"The commission is seriously concerned about the increase in crimes against women and the video not only seems to promote violence against women but also shows the patriarchal mindset, which would send a very wrong message to the society through this video made by Faizal Siddiqui on Tik-Tok," NCW Chairperson, Rekha Sharma, said in the letter to TikTok India.
TikTok told NDTV that the video in question has removed the creator himself, yesterday (May 18); the company also removed the duplicates over the course of yesterday and today.
The problem here is not just with the individuals, but also with @TikTok_In as a platform which lets such videos that promote such problematic behaviour thrive on their platforms. It is obvious why an individual is being targeted, but the problem here is much larger. pic.twitter.com/iBXpHk5Jwd
