UK Mom Breastfeeds Her Baby During A High-Elevation Marathon, Breaks Stereotypes Like A Boss!
British ultra runner Sophie Power breastfeeds her 3 month old baby Cormac. Power who took part in the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc trail run through France Italy and Switzerland has been lauded for showing &ldquomotherhood endurance&rdquo.
Breastfeeding is the most natural things to do for a new mother, however, our society has taken years to be okay with a woman publicly nursing a baby.
What's wrong with a woman nursing a child outside the premises of her house? There have been numerous social experiments to see just how people reacted to a woman nursing in the public area and the reactions are that of disgust or utter shock from some folks.
In an effort to dispel this underlying stereotype attached to breastfeeding, a British woman, who is a mother to two kids, decided to nurse her baby in between her high-elevation marathon.
A picture of Sophie Power feeding her infant son in one hand, and a breast pump in the other has drawn cheers from all quarters.
Power, who took part in the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc trail run through France, Italy, and Switzerland, has been lauded for showing ¡°motherhood endurance¡± in the photo that's now gone viral.
¡°Oh my God, I was in agony! Cormac usually feeds every 3 hours and it took me 16 to get to Courmayeur where he could first meet me so I was hand expressing everywhere I could en route,¡± Power was quoted as saying by Runners World UK.
¡°I was so relieved he was hungry!¡± she added.

In an Instagram post, the athlete, highlighting about pregnancy fitness and health, said, ¡°This isn¡¯t a story about me. It¡¯s a story about the daily struggle of being a new Mum. A story about the need to nurture our babies the best we can.¡±
One Instagram user commented, "A story about the need to nurture our babies the best we can. And the importance to prioritise our physical and mental health - to be ourselves as well as be a mother."
