Pictures and videos going viral show the MP from Richmond performing an aarti standing next to a cow days after he celebrated Janmashtami.
In one of the videos, Sunak can be seen performing an aarti in front of the cow, standing next to his wife. The former UK Chancellor can be first seen with a brass tumbler in his hand, offering holy water to the cow. A priest standing next to the couple hands diya (earthern lamp) to Sunak as they perform the ritual and seek blessing from the cow.
Furthermore, as the video progresses, Sunak and his wife perform the 'aarti' of the cow and continue the pooja. The cow, considered holy in the Hindu religion, was also decorated with colours and hand prints ahead of the occasion.

This comes only days after Sunak along with his wife also visited the Bhaktivedanta Manor on the outskirts of London to celebrate Janmashtami. Sunak, through his Twitter, shared pictures of the celebrations and recalled how he spoke about Bhagavad Gita giving him the strength to continue through challenging times.
"Today I visited the Bhaktivedanta Manor temple with my wife Akshata to celebrate Janmashtami, in advance of the popular Hindu festival celebrating Lord Krishna's birthday," Sunak wrote on Twitter.
