Waitress Gets Rs 7 Lakh In Tips From Strangers Thanks To What One Happy Customer Shared Online
Jazmine Castillo has received tips worth $10,000 (Rs 7 lakh) from strangers thanks to just one appreciation post by Rita Williams, who had visited a local IHOP with her mother.
A happy and satisfied restaurant customer's social media post has turned out to be the surprise of a lifetime for a waitress.
Jazmine Castillo has received tips worth $10,000 (Rs 7 lakh) from strangers thanks to just one appreciation post by Rita Williams, who had visited a local IHOP with her mother.
Williams said she was very impressed with how Castillo "remained professional, so kind, patient and just overall provided amazing customer service" despite being overworked with many customers.
The post read: "So today my mama and I went to IHOP and had the best service! It was crazy crowded and our waitress was stretched so thin but she remained professional, so kind, patient, and just overall provided amazing customer service! So I decided to tip her $20 for our $30 breakfast¡. She was so grateful like so so grateful, so I gave her another $20."
Castillo was overwhelmed by the generous tip.
The post went on to add that Castillo was ready to quit her job as she couldn't afford to take an Uber to work every day and pay for daycare for her daughter.
"She wasn¡¯t planning on coming to work cause she didn¡¯t see the light and just couldn¡¯t afford to but she came! She asked to hug me, told me she was gonna pray for me, and just kept saying 'thank you, you don¡¯t understand how much this helps me'," it adds.
The kindness of Williams didn't end there. After realising Castillo was struggling to make ends meet, she asked her for her Cash App username. And after a lot of pleading, she shared the details.
After Williams posted the details of the encounter on Facebook, it was soon inundated with comments. The post also added the Cash App id of Castillo so that her followers on Facebook could send her tips.
Just within a week of posting the encounter, Castillo received over $10,000 in tips, according to reports.
In an interview with WXIA, Castillo said her Cash App ringtone just kept buzzing and didn't stop for quite a while.
"I don't usually get Cash App, so I didn't recognize the ring tone, and it just got crazier and crazier and it didn't stop from there. It didn't stop and it hasn't stopped," she told the news outlet.
Backed by the support of strangers, Castillo is moving forward from her tough days.
