Everyday Heroes: Delhi Cop Helps Woman In Labour Reach Hospital, She Names Newborn After Him
Delhi Police constable Dayaveer Singh reportedly helped a woman named Anupama reach the hospital when she went into labour. She said that the cop came to her aid within 5-10 mins of asking for help. Her family named the newborn baby boy after the police constable.
The time of coronavirus lockdown is tougher for some more than others. Especially people with medical emergencies who cannot find any vehicle to even reach to the hospital to get the required help.
Recently, a woman in Delhi received help from Delhi Police and has tried to express her gratefulness by the sweetest gesture.
Delhi Police constable Dayaveer Singh reportedly helped a woman named Anupama reach the hospital when she went into labour. She said that the cop came to her aid within 5-10 mins of asking for help. To express their gratitude her family named the newborn baby boy after the police constable. "I have named my child Dayaveer," she was quoted as saying by ANI.
Anumpama¡¯s father-in-law had called the police for help and the cop took her to Hindu Rao Hospital. The family waited for an ambulance but that reportedly did not arrive for two hours.
"They were trying to arrange an ambulance. When the ambulance did not arrive, they called our SHO. I was asked to rush to the woman's aid," ANI quoted the cop, Mr Dayaveer as saying.
Ashok Vihar Police Station SHO Arti Sharma said "Delhi Police is ready to provide all help to the people amid the lockdown," while pointing out the Dayaveer left to help the woman as soon as the station received the call for help.
Clearly, not all heroes wear capes.
