In a video that was posted by Twitter user @amjadmunawar, a seemingly elderly woman pulls a heavy bullock cart on her own, on a busy road. The video is reportedly from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh.
The woman was seen pulling the heavy cart in the scorching heat so she could feed her four children, claim reports.
But it's not the cart alone. There is a lot of luggage on the cart, and a kid sitting on top of it. The video shows cars rushing past as the woman continues to struggle on, alone and without assistance. The sight is oddly familiar and takes one back to the famous scene from the movie Mother India, which tells the story of a widowed woman fighting her own battle with life.
Who is this woman from Madhya Pradesh?
The video was posted with the caption, "In Rajgarh Madhya Pradesh #India, a woman herself was seen pulling a bullock cart like a bull to feed the children. The woman is a widowed mother of 4 children. After the death of her husband, she has no place to live and eat,she can hardly eat once in 24 hours."
According to other reports, the woman in the video is Laxmibai, and she was travelling from Rajgrah to Sarangpur all by herself. The distance between those places is approximately 30 km.
She declares that she is without shelter or food, and that her husband is no more. She sorrowfully admitted that all the responsibilities are on her shoulders and that even one meal in a day is hard to procure.
Bike riders help the poor woman
Seeing the woman, two men on a bike stop and start talking to her. "Kaha tak le jaoge isko?" they ask. "Sarangpur," she answers.
The men, who are also filming the video, also ask why she is pulling the cart. The woman explains that she doesn't have a bull, food or shelter. She adds she's headed towards Sarangpur. The men then decide to help her with the cart. They tie her cart to the bike and reportedly drop her with her cart and kid to Sarangpur.
