Mayank Yadav, the express pacer, made his first appearance of the 2025 Indian Premier League on Sunday during the clash against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. During the thrilling face-off between MI and LSG, Yadav replaced player Shardul Thakur and kicked off his first clash of IPL 2025.
On the other hand, LSG won the toss, and captain Rishabh Pant opted to field first. Well, last year, Mayank Yadav made a sensational debut in the IPL by clocking speeds of up to 156 km/h and also collected three wickets in each of his first two appearances, against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), respectively.
However, his season was cut short due to his abdominal injury, and now he has returned after a seven-month injury layoff.
First Rohit Sharma, then Hardik Pandya, and Mayank Yadav make a major comeback
Returning to the fields after seven long months, Mayank Yadav announced his arrival in style, first dismissing Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma and then Hardik Pandya.
Rohit Sharma was dismissed just when he looked set for another big score. Rohit scored 76, 70, and 26 in his last three matches and began ominously again.
On the other hand, after Rohit Sharma, Mayank Yadav bowled another key MI player, Hardik Pandya. Pandya was bowled by Yadav, who attempted to drive the ball down the ground but missed it entirely, and the ball narrowly brushed the off bail, dismissing him for 5 off 7 balls.
