IPL 2025: Nicholas Pooran breaks Yuvraj Singh's sixes record in the league, becomes 22nd player to hit 150+

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)'s Nicholas Pooran made his mark in IPL history with an explosive display of power hitting, becoming the latest entrant into the elite list and surpassing the legendary Yuvraj Singh in the process.

The milestone came during an amusing innings against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Eden Gardens. On Tuesday, Pooran was unstoppable in the Indian Premier League 2025 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Winning the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders chose to bowl first, and LSG set the tempo early through an eloquent 81 from Mitchell Marsh and a steady 47 from Aiden Markram. But the real game started when Pooran walked in.

LSG's Nicholas Pooran achieved a major milestone in the Indian Premier League 2025 against KKR. He secured a position as the third-fastest batsman to complete 150 sixes in the tournament.

If we take a look at the fastest batters to hit 150 sixes in the IPL, then the first name that comes to our mind is Chris Gayle, who holds the record for being the fastest to hit 150 sixes, which he achieved in just 50 innings.

Following this, Andre Russell comes next, who took 72 innings, and Nicholas Pooran joins the elite list, securing the third-fastest player to reach the milestone in 78 innings.

While Pooran scored 87 off 36 balls in the match, smashing eight sixes and seven fours. The 29-year-old scored 288 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 225.

With the excellent performance, Nicholas also broke the records of Yuvraj Singh and has now hit 150+ sixes in the IPL so far. Not only this, but he also became the 22nd player to achieve the milestone.
