Lopez reminds fans it¡¯s all about the music
After the performance, Lopez addressed the audience with a heartfelt message: ¡°I had to kick things off by turning it up to the biggest songs of the year and dancing my heart out for all of you,¡± she said, before reminding fans that the AMAs are the only major award show where they choose the winners. ¡°This year, there were more votes than ever before."
This isn¡¯t Lopez¡¯s first AMAs hosting gig, as fans still remember her iconic turn in 2015, where she changed outfits with every appearance and delivered a seven-minute dance marathon featuring Beyonc¨¦, Ed Sheeran, and Fetty Wap. Nearly a decade later, she returned to a show that, like her, is making a major comeback. The AMAs last aired in 2022, and after a two-year hiatus, the show returned with new categories like Album, Song, and Social Song of the Year.
