People come up with unique ways to smuggle drugs and money via airport. More often than not, these ultra genius methods get caught by the airport security. One such incident recently happened at the Delhi airport.
A security personnel intercepted Murad Ali as he had ¡®suspicious¡¯ behaviour when he reached Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport, to board an Air India flight to Dubai.
According to PTI, when his baggage was checked, foreign currencies were found concealed in food items like cooked mutton pieces, peanuts, biscuit packets and other eatables."This is a unique and peculiar way of concealing foreign currency for smuggling," PTI quoted CISF spokesperson, Assistant Inspector General Hemendra Singh, as saying.
A video of the security personnel cracking peanuts, opening sealed biscuit packets and digging into oily meat pieces is going viral. They can be seen extracting an assortment of Saudi Riyal, Qatari Riyal, Kuwaiti Dinar, Omani Riyal and Euro rolled into these food items.
According to the report, the estimated worth of the seized cash is Rs 45 lakh. The passenger and the currencies were handed over to Customs authorities for investigation.
Even though this 'brilliant' idea to smuggle money failed, some people on the Internet seemed impressed:

Imagine the amount of food the passenger would have been carrying to hide Rs 45 lakh worth of currencies in coins and notes. The idea really seemed like it might have worked but the airport security is air tight, unlike the containers these food items were being carried in.
