Tamil Nadu Man Uses Re 1 Coins He Collected For 3 Years To Buy Dream Bike Worth Rs 2.6 Lakh
A youth in Tamil Nadu's Salem paid the sum of Rs 2.6 lakh in Re 1 coins to buy his dream bike. The staff at the motorcycle showroom took 10 hours to count the coins.
How far have you gone to buy that one expensive thing you always wanted? Well, a man from Tamil Nadu sure did go the extra mile to get his dream bike.
V Boobathi saved Re 1 coins for three years to buy a Dominar 400 motorcycle which cost a total of Rs 2.6 lakh.
According to reports, the man brought the coins to the Bajaj showroom in Salem on March 26 with his friends in a minivan packed with gunny bags. It took the staff over 10 hours to count the coins.
"The staff at the motorcycle showroom took 10 hours to count Boobathi's three years of savings," said Mahavikranth, the manager at Bharat Agency. "The banks would charge Rs 140 as commission for counting Rs 1,00,000 (that too in 2,000 denomination). How will they accept it when we give them Rs 2,60,000 in one-rupee coins?," Mahavikranth asked.
When Boobathi arrived at the showroom the staff was reluctant to take the bags full of coins because he had been converting his savings into small coins for the past three years. However, he, his four friends and five of the staff members counted all the coins one by one.
Boobathi said in an interview, ¡°I decided to save money I earned from my YouTube channel. When I inquired about the on-road cost of the bike, I got to know that it was priced at Rs 2.6 lakh, and I had the amount this time."
He sure did make his dream come true.
