One thing that I have learnt about elephants last year is that they love to have fun. And this viral video of two circus elephants breaking free to enjoy in snow is another example of that.
The video shows two circus elephants taking a break from their routine to play around in the snow in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
The elephants broke free from their handlers, did not stop when the handlers were trying their best to stop them. But for their fun, the elephants ended up blocking the centre of Ekaterinburg.
The elephants escaped before their handlers could round them up for two-day journey to St. Petersburg.
The 45 and 50-year-old elephants are part of the controversial Italian Tongi Circus, which now tours Russia after live-animals in big-top performances were banned in Italy.
The elephants can be seen frolicking in about -5 degrees Celsius while their handlers make a fuss in trying to get them back to enclosures.
"The elephants have their own character and emotions, they are very smart. They walked outside and got very happy from seeing the snow, the trees and the pedestrians who they took for spectators. Roni stayed by one of the trees while Carla walked towards a pile of snow," a spokesman for Ekaterinburg State Circus said.
