A joyful return to earth
As the capsule touched down in the Texas desert, Lauren Sanchez was the first to step out, calling out for her children while Bezos greeted her with a warm hug. This landmark event also comes just two months ahead of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos' upcoming wedding in Venice.
Katy Perry followed, dramatically kissing the sandy ground in celebration, quickly joined by Gayle King in a moment that felt both joyful and symbolic.

When asked by reporters about her experience, Lauren Sanchez reflected on how, despite being divided by state lines, they are all truly connected. She described feeling joy, calling it a mix of emotions. "It was a feeling of joy and camaraderie. A feeling of gratefulness. A feeling of 'we are doing this'."
Overcome with emotion, Sanchez burst into tears as she celebrated the achievement of the six female astronauts. "I don't even know how this is going to change me," she said.
Who all were abroad the flight?
The all-female crew of this historic Blue Origin spaceflight featured a remarkable lineup: pop star Katy Perry, TV host Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and Jeff Bezos' fianc¨¦e, Lauren Sanchez.
This mission marked a groundbreaking moment in space history ¡ª the first all-female spaceflight since 1963. The last time women led a mission like this was when Valentina Tereshkova of the former Soviet Union became the first woman to travel to space, as reported by NBC News.
The Blue Origin flight crossed the internationally recognized boundary of space, taking the six women more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) above Earth in an 11-minute journey. The milestone event drew a crowd of notable guests to West Texas, including Oprah Winfrey and several women who had previously taken private spaceflights, all coming together to witness this inspiring and historic achievement.
