Kunal Kamra gets Salman Khan's Bigg Boss offer, goes viral: 'I'd rather check into a mental hospital'
Even as Kunal Kamra battles controversy, the real plot twist? He was invited to join Bigg Boss, and he shut it down with a classic burn.

Kunal Kamra is facing a lot of trouble after a joke he made during a comedy show in Mumbai, where he hinted at, without naming, former Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde being a "gaddar." Since then, Shiv Sena workers have vandalised the venue, he¡¯s received threat calls, and several FIRs have been filed against him. But now, the most unexpected twist has arrived, and it involves Bigg Boss and Salman Khan!
Kunal Kamra took to Instagram with a gem of a screenshot - a Whatsapp message from a casting director who reached out to pitch him an opportunity. A spot on the next season of Bigg Boss.

The message read: "I am handling the casting for this season of Bigg Boss and your name came up as someone they might find interesting. I know it might not have been on your radar, but honestly, it's such a mad platform to show your real vibe and win over a massive audience. What do you think? Should we talk about it?"
Now, if you know Kamra's brand of humour (and brutally honest reactions), you already know this wasn't going to end with a polite "thanks, but no thanks."
Kamra responded, "I would much rather check into a mental hospital¡"
Kunal Kamra 'gaddar' jibe case update
Comedian Kunal Kamra, who hasn't appeared before police despite three summons, filed a petition on April 5 to quash the FIR against him.
His lawyer told the court Kamra is willing to cooperate via video call, citing threats to his safety.
Kamra, currently living in Tamil Nadu, argues the FIR violates his rights to free speech and personal liberty. His remarks, he says, were part of a satirical act commenting on the 2022 Shiv Sena split.
His legal team insists this is not a serious criminal matter, but a case of targeting satire.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court has granted him interim bail until April 17. The case will be heard on April 16.
