Marathoners Forced To Run In Ankle-Deep Water After The City Of Venice Floods
The 33rd edition of the Venice Marathon kicked off this morning. The city of Venice was hit by a high tide from Northern Adriatic Sea and strong winds which led to floods after almost a decade. The race started from Villa Pisani on the Brenta Riviera and finished at the Bell Tower.
Every year, the Venice Marathon sees seasoned runners galloping their way to the finish line. But this year, as the 33rd edition of the same kicked off, running 26.2 miles wasn't the only challenge. As the city of Venice flooded, people were forced to run in ankle-deep water.
The race started from Villa Pisani on the Brenta Riviera to the city of Venice following the route- St Mark¡¯s Square, the Doge's Palace and then the famous Bell Tower.

The strength of these runners is laudable and their undeterred attitude commendable.
