Miley Cyrus surprises fans by singing 'Hannah Montana' classic 'The Climb' during a live performance; fans say 'still inspirational'

If you were a true Miley Cyrus fan, you already know the unmatched craze and love this Disney phenomenon sparked across the globe. Recently, the Malibu singer took a trip down memory lane at a private concert for her fans and surprised them by singing the opening notes of 'The Climb' from the 2009 film Hannah Montana: The Movie.

The 32-year-old Grammy winner teased the fans present in the concert by saying, 'I'm not singing 'The Climb,' but I could.'

According to People. com, the 100-member audience burst into song the moment pianist Michael Pollack struck the opening chords.

The adorable moment grabbed the eyeballs of fans online as Cyrus sang; she paused mid-performance to ask, ¡°Is that the right word?¡± and ¡°Do you know the chorus?¡±¡ªchecking in playfully with the crowd.

The pop singer, while ending the song, also joked that her drummer and boyfriend, Maxx Morando, had been waiting since middle school to play the song.

Additionally, this was the first time Cyrus had publicly performed the beloved ballad in years.

Fans react with pure nostalgia, and one wrote on Reddit, "This song will never not hit." "Still inspirational tbh," another said.

While another said, "She¡¯s had her accolades sure, but I feel that she¡¯s still such an underrated talent. Will always be a mama fan and looking fwd to more that she¡¯ll do."

'I stand still proud to have been Hannah Montana'

The last time Cyrus performed a Hannah Montana song was on August 11, 2024, while accepting her Disney Legend honor, and that was the last time fans witnessed the singer getting emotional while looking back on her years of playing Hannah Montana.

She said then, "A little bit of everything has changed, ... but at the same time, nothing has changed at all." "I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana."
