A video of Brody tossing a used chewing gum towards his girlfriend Georgina Chapman just before accepting the award has gone viral.

The American actor, 51, grabbed his second Oscar today for his performance in the film The Brutalist.

The incident took place when the actor moved forward towards the stage to accept the award, and this is when he realised that he had chewing gum in his mouth, which he tossed from the stage.

The moment has massively gone viral on the internet. The actor paused up on the stage, spit the gum out, and tossed it towards his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, who managed to catch it with impressive dexterity.

Bordy topped off the chewed gum with a five-minute winning speech in which he thanked Georgina Chapman, her children, and his fans. He went on to say that he would thank people across the world and every individual who treated him with respect and appreciation.
