People who have read the Harry Potter books have tonnes of conspiracy theories. One of them revolves around Hermione Granger, one of the lead characters in Rowling's books and movie series.
Author JK Rowling has finally confirmed a Harry Potter fan theory about the pronunciation of Hermione's name. Those who have read the books spent the first three manuscripts trying very hard to pronounce her name right, which was the time when the films had not released. Though the same can't be said about those listening to Stephen Fry¡¯s audio books. Either way, the cat is out of the hat, the big secret is out!
So when the Goblet of Fire released, and Hermione met the handsome Durmstrang champion Viktor Krum, she kept teaching him to pronounce her name right - spelling it out slowly as 'Her-my-oh-nee' and making most realise it never was 'Hermy-own'.
Some fans thought this was a deliberate plug by the author assuming she'd heard of fans facing the 'Hermy-own' dilemma.
And, so, whe lawyer Atulaa tweeted: "Theory: @jk_rowling included that passage on how to pronounce Hermione's name in Goblet of Fire just to school all of us who were saying HER-MY-OWN like Viktor Krum," JK Rowling replied with "Theory correct." The rest is Harry Potter history and suffice it to say fans were besides themselves with joy. Rowling's tweet went on to collect more than 16,000 likes and re-tweets.
