Before her modelling career, Lee Sian was actually an idol trainee. She participated in the 2017 survival show Idol School, which aimed to form the girl group fromis_9. Although she didn't make the final cut, ranking 16th in the final episode, her appearance on the show has made her a familiar face to many K-pop fans.
She later joined Stone Music Entertainment and went on to participate in Produce 48, the survival show that formed the project girl group IZ*ONE. Although she was one of the most popular participants, she ultimately ranked 30th and missed out on a spot in the final group.
