Spain*s Saturnino de la Fuente Garc赤a became the oldest person living (male) at the incredible age of 112 years and 211 days on 10th September 2021.
According to Guinness World Records, Saturnino was born in Puente Castro (a neighbourhood of Le車n, in the northwest of Spain) on 11 February 1909, although he always decided to celebrate his birthday a little earlier, on 8 February. When asked about the secret of his longevity, the 112-year-old said he said it's all about 'a quiet life'.
Saturnino, who stands at 4.92-feet-tall, says his short height was the reason he could avoid fighting in the Spanish Civil war that began in 1936. At that time of conflict, he lived a quiet life with his wife and continued his life-long job as a shoemaker.
The 112-year-old is also an enthusiastic football fan and has played the game for years and even co-founded a local team, Puente Castro. As for the big clubs, he has been a supporter of the club Cultural Leonesa. Two years ago, he was honoured by Puente Castro as the oldest living member of the club.
