The pictures are just adorable, have a look:
McGarry had to leave high school in 1943 to help her family while the war raged on.
She worked at a pharmacy and later as a janitor with her husband, all while dreaming of completing her education.
Her friend Marie Adams, aware of this dream, secretly contacted the school district to make it happen.
Surrounded by friends and family, McGarry was presented with her diploma from Woodsfield High School, dated May 19, 1944, the day she was originally meant to graduate.
Ohio law made this special exception for women who left school to support the war effort.
Superintendent Phil Ackerman highlighted the significance of McGarry's achievement, emphasising that it's never too late to pursue one's dreams.
McGarry, who will turn 100 soon, was overjoyed and said, "And I hope I enjoy it for a while. I really do."
