The worldwide lockdown brought a drastic change in our lives including shifting our work stations to our homes. While some people already want to go back to office, plenty others are just fine with the way things are at the moment.
According to a study by Universit¨¦ de Montr¨¦al, four out of ten people want to continue working from home even after the lockdown is lifted. Out of the 1,614 participants of the study, one-third felt that their productivity has increased ever since they have started working from home.
75% of the participants were women while 25% were men.
Lower productivity was reported by those whose workload majorly depends on the capacity of their colleagues.
Over half of the participants also said that they had found technological solutions to problems they were facing at work earlier. These participants were young and had higher levels of education in comparison to the rest.
Participants from smaller organisations were the most innovative as they didn't have a big team to depend on and had to watch out for themselves.
Once the crisis is over, 39 per cent of the respondents said they would prefer to stay at home while 37 per cent wanted to return to work. The remaining 24 per cent did not have a prominent opinion on the matter.
However, these are only the preliminary results of the study and as the survey continues, more data will be released.
