¡°From today I don¡¯t need these diplomas anymore because this country is no place for an education. If my sister & my mother can¡¯t study, then I DON¡¯T accept this education.¡± pic.twitter.com/cTZrpmAuL6

This is so powerful to see Afghan men standing up for Afghan women. The Taliban leaders must reverse their decision on girls education. They are destroying the country with their backward edicts against women. https://t.co/BxODRi6QD8

Are the Taliban intent on reversing any progress Afghanistan has made back to the stone age?
When men demonstrate their antipathy towards the repressive measures in this way, will they sit up and take notice? https://t.co/gHpYIVzSBr

Nasimi is the executive director of the Conservative Friends of Afghanistan, a group in the United Kingdom that works to raise support for Afghanistan and awareness of it.
Twenty years after U.S. forces had driven the Taliban out of Afghanistan in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, in August of last year, they came back to control the country.
When the Taliban first came to power, they promised a more compassionate regime.
However, their actions contradicted their promises, as restrictions were gradually imposed on all aspects of women's lives.
The Taliban's decision last week to stop Afghan women from going to college caused a lot of anger.
"You are all informed to immediately implement the mentioned order of suspending female education until further notice," Neda Mohammad Nadeem, Minister of Higher Education, said in a letter to all government and private universities.
Before the ban was put in place, there had been several changes to the rules at the institution, such as putting in separate entrances and bathrooms for men and women.
In addition, female students may only attend courses taught by either female faculty or older males.
Secondary school enrollment is low because most teenage girls have been barred from attending secondary education.
