AI-ccident? AI driven Waymo car crashed into a trolley bus, CEO's partying nearby come to help
A Waymo self-driving car crashed into a trolleybus in San Francisco just as CEOs were leaving a Y Combinator after-party. A viral video shows the CEOs, including Brazilian CEO Freddy Vega, trying to manually guide the AI-driven car away from the bus.
A self-driving car rammed a trolleybus in San Francisco just as a bunch of CEOs were leaving an after-party for the startup accelerator firm Y Combinator. In a bid to help the Artificial Intelligence-driven vehicle, the YC founders stopped by the car and tried to help it find its way out.
A video of the CEOs attempting to manoeuvre the Waymo car away from the bus went viral on social media.

"A Waymo car driven by AI crashed with a Muni bus driven by a human in San Francisco. Right in front of YC¡¯s founder after party. So here¡¯s a bunch of CEOs trying to help a helpless robot find his way again," said a post on X by Brazilian CEO Freddy Vega.
The one-minute video shows a group of men pushing down on the car, attempting to move it out of the path. "This is what the industry calls "founder mode"," Vega jokes in the video.
Vega then explains the "founder mode" tale, stating that the Waymo car collided with a bus outside the YC founders' retreat. "So the bunch of the founders are trying to figure out what to do with the Waymo," he can be heard saying in the video.
Waymo, formerly known as the Google Self-Driving Car Project, is a subsidiary of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc. The automobile may be seen flashing its lights but remains stationary.
"The irony is that we were all returning from an AI conference discussing the future of automation. And now this AI is fully stuck and clogging traffic," Vega remarked.
After repeated efforts, the car's battery failed, but the bus was able to leave the area and drive away. Vega asked one of the founders about his experience, and he quipped that it was difficult but "founder mode" worked.
How did people on the internet react?
The video, which has had over 419,000 views, was inundated with comments criticizing and insulting AI technology. Here's what people wrote.
This proves two things:

1. The "distopyc" future that people were fearing is pretty boring
2. Now we know how many software engineers we need to move a AI self driven car ?
No investors were harmed during this intervention.
