Australian Woman Stopped From Boarding A Flight As Her Top Showed 'Too Much Skin'

A young woman was left shocked after not being allowed to board a flight in Australia, as her outfit showed ¡°too much skin.¡±

According to a report in News.com.au, she was told she would not be able to board her Virgin Australia flight which left her confused and embarrassed. Catherine Bampton, 23, said she was waiting to board flight VA1447 from Adelaide to the Gold Coast on Wednesday morning, when she said she was approached by one of the airline¡¯s ground crew.

Catherine was wearing tailored trousers, a crop top and white trainers when she was waiting to catch her flight, but what happened next left her speechless.

The Gold Coast resident said she was ¡°publicly embarrassed¡± by the female staff member.

¡°She told me in front of everyone that the pilot was refusing for me to board the plane because of the clothes I was wearing,¡± Bampton was quoted as telling News.com.au.

¡°I was in so much shock and was so confused because my clothes weren¡¯t revealing,¡± she added.

Catherine was reportedly asked to change into a different top before boarding. She said: ¡°It was so embarrassing and humiliating. Everyone else waiting to board the plane was sitting there watching ¡­ and you could see they were staring in shock with their mouths open.¡±

The university student was allegedly told that it¡¯s the pilot who ¡°doesn¡¯t like people showing too much skin.¡±

But apparently, the Virgin Australia staff member didn¡¯t clarify what was wrong with the outfit.

Catherine doesn¡¯t believe she did anything wrong and breach any dress codes; she is hoping to get an apology from the airline.

According to the Virgin Australia website, passengers are required to wear shoes, a top and ¡°suitable clothing that covers your bottom half." There is no specific mention of crop tops being banned.
